HALFORD Guitarist 'METAL' MIKE CHLASCIAK Launches Metal Performance Program
November 12, 2013HALFORD guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak has partnered with the Wayne, New Jersey location of School Of Rock to bring "The Machine Shop" metal performance program.
"The Machine Shop" is a program designed for metal players of all ages who look to develop their skills and further understand the techniques used in heavy metal songs. The sessions are divided into 17-and-under and 18-and-over age groups.
After a month-long session of weekend rehearsals, participants then take their skills and perform a show with Metal Mike at a rock venue to experience playing in front of a live audience.
Metal Mike commented on the new venture: "I have been dreaming of something along the lines of the 'The Machine Shop' for a long time. First, we want to offer metal players a really cool place with great-sounding gear that is staffed with metalhead instructors.
"The School Of Rock in Wayne is a perfect place where students can look forward to meeting up and know that their love of metal is supported.
"Second, during each session, students will study the music of their favorite metal artists and build a repertoire in order to perform a live show.
"Most musicians love this idea as finding others to play with is one of the most common obstacles they struggle with. If you add a live show, then we have something that completes the whole cycle and offers something truly amazing. I want them to experience playing with a full PA, monitors, lights, smoke machine, an audience — the works."
"The Machine Shop" is open to guitar, vocals, bass and drums and the final show takes place on Sunday, December 8 at Dingbatz Club in Clifton, New Jersey.
The November session is sold out, but if you are interested in the January 2014 session, please contact the Wayne School Of Rock at (973) 653-5432.
